More Watauga River Browns

Asheville Anglers guide Travis Honeycutt takes Tommy Rickman and his good friend Dustin for a watauga river float trip. The TVA had been running water early in the morning all week so we got an early start and it didn't take long to put 10 fish in the boat! And then 20,30,35. Well you get the picture. Then the water comes up around lunch and Travis anchors in the shade and breaks out some lunch as they watched the river bed fill up. After filling our stomaches Travis decides to put the nymph rigs up and start chucking and stripping streamers and plugs. It didn't take but about a mile before Tommy put this trophy brown in the boat. Solid 21 in male brown. Tommy personal best. An unhonest guide would have called him 23 but we measured! Great catch Tommy, looking forward to doing it again. Come get in the boat days are cooling and fishing is heating up!
